• High speed horizontal joint fingerjointer with feed speeds up to 120 lugs per minute with lugs on 9in. centers. Capacities are: block length from 4-1/2 in. to 35 in.; block width from 1-1/2 in. to 8 in. (-0 in. + 1/16 in. adjustable); block thickness from 5/8 in. to 2 in. (+/- 1/16 in.). Outfeed assembled lengths to 20'. System consists of the following elements: • Shaper section with manual feeding; (2) opposing shapers with transport chain transfers blocks to shapers; both shapers with (2) 15 HP top and bottom scoring/hogging heads allow production of edge profiles while minimizing tear out during hogging and shaper operations. Blocks are pneumatically clamped tight to the chain during machining. Blocks transfer from the 1st to 2nd shaper section by a conveyor belt synchronized with feed chain. All spindles are belt driven to ensure proper tooling RPM. Shapers will swing 9 in. heads at 4,190 RPM or 10-1/2 in. dia. heads at 3,550 RPM. Score and hog spindles operate at 5,700 RPM. Feed chain is variable speed up to 120 lugs per minute (with lugs on 9 in. centers); lug spacing possibilities are 6 in., 9 in. and 12 in.; powered by 10 HP motor. Glue is applied after the 2nd shaper station via the Flankenjet system, ensuring a continuous flow to the profile. Adhesive system includes 12 gallon adhesive reservoir with separate flush tank, feed pressure device, control electronics, connecting lines and valves, and glue applicator head support. Shaper will run the following joints; male/female, reverse, resaw, half shoulder, feather, and ''Spec 3'' horizontal structural joint with 5/8 in. finger length. • Transfer station acts as a buffer belt with semi-automatic feeding to the suction air belt. • Thread in track transfers individual blocks from the transfer station to (2) synchronous chains by means of a fast running belt. Guiding chains with flexible top pressure elements ensure correct alignment of fingerjointed blocks. 20' long thread in track is driven by (1) 4 HP and (2) 1-1/2 HP motors at 460 FPM. • Electrically driven power feed attachment consists of (1) pair of 9 in. dia., (2) 3 HP AC drum motors with feed speeds to 395 FPM. Top roll presses pneumatically onto the blocks. • High pressure squeeze press with 4 HP hydraulic power pack and 21-gallon tank. Blocks are pre-pressed for final assembled lengths. Pneumatic retarder combined with (2) high-powered axial cylinder motors ensure high degree of pre-pressing of the jointed length. Following the prepress, the 3 HP cutoff saw is activated and the cut-to-length board is pushed into the final press area and held from (4) sides; the required pressing pressure (up to 27,000 lb/ft) is applied. The board is pushed out of the press when completed. Press includes the automatic cutoff saw, infinite final length adjustment down to 9'-10'', pneumatic top pressure elements and lateral guides, hydraulic power pack with adjustable pressure, electronic length measuring to cut jointed boards to various lengths (3 lengths possible). - [FJ-010452]
